Report: North Sea unit inspection, repair and maintenance opportunities

HIE and DTI’s Energy Industry Development Team (EID) have completed a co-funded study of Inspection Repair and Maintenance (IRM) opportunities for mobile drilling units in the North Sea.

The driver for the study has been the ability to forecast future business opportunities for supply chain companies in the Highlands and Islands and other parts of the UK.

An estimated £250 million per annum is forecast to be spent on IRM work on all relevant vessels based in north west Europe and Highlands and Islands facilities can expect to compete for a major share of this work.
