Highlands and Islands Scotland Structural Funds Programmes 2007-2013

The Highlands & Islands Scotland Structural Funds Programmes 2007-2013 is a European Union funded programme of assistance, which will provide £120 million of funding into the economy of the Highlands & Islands from 2007 until the end of 2013.

HIE are represented on both the advisory groups and the monitoring and management committees of the programme and work in partnership with the programme management executive, the Highlands & Islands Partnership Programme (HIPP), to ensure that maximum benefit for the area is secured.

In a change to the previous programme, HIE has been designated a Strategic Delivery Body (SDB) in the 2007-2013 ERDF Programme for the Highlands. The status is awarded in recognition of the crucial role that HIE plays in delivering priority one of the ERDF programme, which focuses on enterprise, innovation and competitiveness. The UHI Millennium Institute (UHI) is the second Strategic Delivery Body for the area, focussing on priority two of the ERDF programme, key drivers of sustainable growth, and of priority three of the ESF programme, improving access to lifelong learning.

If you have any questions on HIE's role as a Strategic Delivery Body please contact the International affairs team.

If you want to find out more about the running of or applying to the programme, please contact HIPP.
