Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
The aim of STEM is to increase the number of people with qualifications in these subject areas to contribute towards a sustainable economic future for the Highlands and Islands.
The STEM North of Scotland team provide advice on science, technology, engineering and mathematics available in the region, what pupil level the activities are suitable for, and how they link to the Curriculum for Excellence.
STEM North of Scotland team has three main jobs:
- We find activities and opportunities for schools to use to enrich the curriculum in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and technology.
- We organise STEM Ambassadors to help you find out more about what STEM careers are really like.
- We start up new projects in STEM, sometimes in partnership with national organisations, sometimes with schools or colleges.
