What is Hospitality Assured?
Hospitality Assured is an internationally recognised quality accreditation scheme for service and business excellence. It has been tailor-made for the Highlands and Islands and is overseen by the Institute of Hospitality.
Who recognises the Hospitality Assured Standard?
The Hospitality Assured Standard is fully endorsed by the British Quality Foundation and Quality Scotland. This means it is taken seriously and will help change your business.
How do I get started
How do I get started?
If you would like to discuss what support might be available to your business, contact your local HIE office. You can also get cracking straight away by registering on the Hospitality Assured web site and following the on screen instructions if you fancy trying on-line assessment.
On-line self assessment
How does the online questionnaire work? The Hospitality Assured online questionnaire is one-way. You will be taken through each step in order, question by question. Please consider your answer before pressing ‘Next question’ as you will not be able to go back and revise your answer.
You will, however, be able to go back and review your overall results from each completed step and the tips and advice that accompany that Step. To do this click on the step number on the left hand navigation.
At the start of each Step in your journey to excellence there will be a short introduction followed by questions and tasks. You will be asked to mark your business out of 10 against the Hospitality Assured Standard.
Where can I view an example question? This is an example of the type of question you will be posed as you work your way through the ten steps to excellence. Please note that the buttons are disabled.
Do I need to complete all the steps in one session? No. Your answers are saved automatically. When you login again to Hospitality Assured you can resume from where you left off.
Why do I need to register? Registration is required in order to create a profile for each user. When you login your saved results are ready for you to resume work on the ten steps to excellence.
Help! I've forgotten my password to login, what can I do? Don't panic! There's a forgotten password link on the login page. Follow the online instructions and we will email a password reminder to your registered email address.
Costs
How much does it cost?
The biggest outlay is in time, energy and effort. Ultimately, consider whether in the long term you can afford not to participate. Experience shows that achieving Hospitality Assured status is rewarded in bottom line as a business progresses towards tourism excellence. Remember, too, that you will receive the equivalent of £2000 worth of free business coaching and support while working towards accreditation. HIE are currently negotiating with the Institute of Hospitality to achieve more cost effective assessment charges for the region.
