Business support for the food and drink industry

We work with the industry leadership organisation Scotland Food & Drink and other partners to support the industry's ambitions and growth targets. We also work with individual food and drink companies to help them grow and compete in UK and international markets through our account management model.

Scotland Food & Drink is the industry leadership organisation bringing together the whole industry to help Scotland achieve a global reputation as a 'Land of Food & Drink' generating £12.5 billion turnover by 2017.
Business development services.

Business development services for the sector are primarily provided by Scotland Food & Drink and include:

  • National Food & Drink Forum Network
    The National Food & Drink Forum Network is an event based activity and free to attend Regional Food Forums will meet at least 4 times per year; themes for the meetings will be driven by the market opportunities identified within the industry's Fresh Thinking Strategy and the regional steering groups.

  • Scotland Food and Drink
    Scotland Food & Drink is a unique leadership organisation - supported by the Scottish Government - tasked with growing the value of Scotland's food and drink sector, making it more profitable and delivering greater global success in a challenging and competitive environment.

  • Scotland Food & Drink Skills Academey
    The Scotland Food & Drink Skills Academy is a virtual institution that exists to source, recommend and develop exemplar training and development programmes within one of our country's most increasingly important sectors.

    The Skills Academy team work with our wide network of providers and partners to offer services and solutions relevant to our clients' needs which will in turn help them up-skill their workforce and derive an economic benefit from doing so. Because we are seamlessly connected throughout the food and drink industry, we genuinely believe we are a powerful ally to businesses operating in this sector.

  • Access to Markets programme
    Access To Markets is focused on identifying and delivering commercial opportunities with retail and foodservice companies within the UK. It also helps food and drink companies build their capabilities to enable them to capitalise on the opportunities available and develop sustainable business relationships.

    Access To Markets services include: Meet the Buyer, Buyer Briefings, Supplier Development & New Supplier Programmes, Skills Workshops, Learning Journeys and UK Trade and Consumer Exhibitions.
