What does it offer?
Skillseekers helps you train for a Vocational Qualification. Vocational Qualifications (VQs) are a measure of the skills and knowledge you have developed in doing the job itself. They are assessed practically and not based on your ability to pass exams. VQs are recognised and accepted by industry throughout the country.

Which level will I choose?
The level of VQ depends on the type of job you are doing. Different jobs require different levels of skill and therefore training. More complicated jobs need higher levels of skill of the people doing them. Typically, Skillseekers learn skills at Level II, the equivalent of five standard grades.

Possible progression after a Skillseeker programme?
A Modern Apprenticeship is available after Skillseekers in many industries. There are over 80 MA frameworks representing various sectors of industry and commerce. MAs let you increase your training to SVQ Level 3 and above. For more information about Modern Apprentices, click here.
