As a Scottish public body, HIE aims to comply fully with the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act, which came fully into force in January 2005.

This Act essentially provides a right of access to information held by public bodies regardless of age - and establishes the office of the Scottish Information Commissioner who has the necessary powers to enforce the Act and regulate compliance.

HIE is strongly committed to complying with the Act and is keen to find out more about what HIE network-related information people would be most interested in accessing.
