Equality impact assessments help us work out how our functions or policies will affect different groups of people and identify how we can do things better. This may involve gathering and analysing information and consulting with relevant people. By carrying out equality impact assessments we will not only avoid disadvantaging particular groups of people but identify ways to actively promote equality and diversity in the Highlands and Islands.
