Getting online with broadband

Broadband -  like electricity  - is ‘always on’ - you only need to connect, under normal service conditions, when your line is first activated.

Your ISP will email you full instructions on how to initiate your broadband link. Some may require that you can call them to be issued with login details.

Typically, it is no more complicated than launching Internet Explorer, entering a web address, then typing out a username and password, and clicking Okay. Be assured that broadband providers have spent much time and energy making the whole ordering and activation process as slick and as straight-forward as possible. It is, after all, in their interests to do so and thus avoid unnecessary customer support calls.

Entering this username and password is something that is only required when your line is first activated. Thereafter, to get online it is a matter of simply launching your browser or email software. On very rare occasions, following major network disruptions, you may need to log in again to clear the problem with your broadband connection. Otherwise, it’s one click and you’re away.
