Content is king. How to produce and manage web site content to best effect.

Pouring content into pages

A static web site where the content hardly ever changes is the kiss of death. Almost all web site briefs now include content management to enable site owners to update sites themselves.

DIY content

No-one knows your customers better than you do. So, it stands to reason that this makes you the best-qualified person to write your web site content. Or does it?

Content copyright

Content – the graphics, pictures, text, video clips, sound etc. – that makes up your web site could all potentially get you in hot water.

Re. freshening content

Third party add-ons are a cheap, effective and low maintenance way to bring greater functionality to your site.

Focus on content

Static content is the kiss of death for a web site. For how many times do we visit web sites and tucked at the bottom of the home page the Last Update line gives a date six or more months previous?

Making a point about updates

How much weight and relevance does your web site traffic place on your content? And how do visitors know if what they are seeing is still up to date and accurate?

Protect your images

Optimising graphics and pictures helps to improve ranking in image searches. But there are times when you may not wish your pictorial content to be indexed by search engines.
