Online traders are now in full Christmas selling mode, but what are the prospects for 2008? Are we in line for a bumper web shopping spree as people forsake the high street? Or are credit crunched shoppers waiting to see who blinks first and discounts the heaviest – the high street or the online stores?
The run up to Christmas – a time of loosening purse strings – is ‘traditionally’ also when shopping online enjoys a growth spurt. Maximising the sales potential at this time of year is crucial and no more so than this year when competition for consumer spending is going to be as fierce as it has been in decades.
People working in creative and cultural industries in the Highlands and Islands are being urged to take part in an important research exercise launched by the region’s development agency.
