| 17 November 2008 Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) announced today that its Inner Moray Firth team will move into new premises on the Dingwall Business Park, Ross-shire. Thirty-seven members of the team currently divided between offices in the Green House, Inverness, and Invergordon will be moving to a new office in Dingwall next spring. A further two members of the team work from premises in Aviemore and this will remain unchanged. HIE Operations Director Douglas Yule said: "The pace of communications technology capability and the changing needs of business means we constantly look at how we can operate most efficiently both in terms of service and cost. "Moving into one modern office in Dingwall will help to support our team's adoption of HIE's new account management model and achieve cash savings in office rent and running costs. "We intend to create a small business incubator unit in our office in Invergordon where we can meet our local clients and access hot-desks. We will also explore any opportunities that may be possible with the Highland Council.' ''In making this decision we have fully consulted with staff and considered the wider implications of this change." HIE currently sub-lets space in the Green House to Skills Development Scotland and the agency has pledged to assist SDS to identify suitable alternative premises. Mr Yule added: "This move is part of an ongoing strategy which in due course should lead to co-location with Highland Council and other public agency organisations bringing even greater savings and advantages to the tax payer in future." | |
