Skillseekers - employers information

When you take on a young person leaving school, you want to make sure that they have the best chance to gain skills of benefit to your business and to themselves. Skillseekers is a practical way to make the most of young people’s potential through structured training aiming to equip them to do the job.

Young people aged 16-19 years working in a job role which relates to Level II vocational qualifications can attract HIE Caithness and Sutherland funding to support their training and qualification. This funding support is usually claimed by the Training Provider who undertakes the training and assessment of your Skillseeker, so although you may not receive the funding directly, it is a valuable support to your efforts to ensure a qualified and effective group of workers.

The programme will last between 18 months and 3-4 years, depending on the sector and the level of qualification being undertaken.
