The National Training Awards recognise and celebrate the unique power of people development, making it possible for people and organisations to achieve outstanding success.Training enables individuals to achieve their potential, businesses to achieve their aims and objectives, and the UK to become even more competitive in global markets.

Local businesses have achieved significant recognition of their commitment to learning and training, resulting in high performance. That sense of commitment is the single most important factor in achieving success whether business success or personal success.

Caithness Engineering Partnership, along with HIE Caithness and Sutherland, were winners for 2002 at both Scottish and UK level,  – working in partnership to enhance the recruitment and training of Modern Apprentices for the partner businesses, and contribute to the pool of skilled labour in the area.  The story of partnership illustrates the benefits of working together and the sense of achievement for all involved.

In 2003, AEAT Battery Systems Ltd, Thurso and Scottish Premier Meat, Dornoch were both winners at the Scottish MA finals.

Many businesses in our area make sustained efforts to develop the skills of their people, and recognition by way of a National Training Award is a fitting endorsement that is well worth striving for.
