Graduate placements - factsheet

Who can I work for?

A wide range of local businesses who are actively looking to develop.

Where can I work?

In the employer's workplace.

When?

Now or as agreed between HIE Caithness and Sutherland and the recruiting company as per placement.

What will I be doing?

Working on a project which could not be undertaken without you. This may take the form of researching new products, services or markets and should be directly relevant to your own degree discipline.

What will I be paid?

The minimum salary level is set at £15,000 per annum, but employers may pay more if they wish.

Will there be other training opportunities during my placement year?

The programme is designed to have participants on the programme come together for networking or particular skills training events eg marketing, financial awareness, project management, all aimed at providing you with a well-rounded experience to enhance your career prospects.

What happens after my graduate placement?

It may well be that your placement employer will wish to retain your services, but if this is not the case, there should be other opportunities in the area.
