Tourism projects may be broadly classified under three main headings:
- accommodation
- catering
- recreational facilities
CASE considers that although the Caithness and Sutherland area is adequately served in terms of accommodation there is still capacity for further development to increase the value of tourism to the economy of the area.
Priority will therefore be given to improving the standards of accommodation and catering facilities available, and to encourage the provision of a wide range of recreational facilities which will encourage tourists to come to (and persuade them to stay longer in) the area.
