One-day workshop

Course Aims:

Human beings are all different and do not agree on all matters.  This can be healthy and invigorating within both businesses and life generally.  However, when views become entrenched and the arguments become adversarial it is likely the seeds of conflict will be sown.

Benefits:

In this one-day course we will look at the signs of conflict and why it happens.  The manager or team leader will want to be alert to the signs of conflict so we discuss core management skills for dealing effectively with it.  Understanding can lead to appropriate action, so we will discuss specific ways to defuse conflict and perhaps, turn the energy of conflict into benefits.

Content:

  • Why conflict happens at work
  • The factors that affect the way people think
  • Why conflicts can be difficult to resolve
  • Changing behaviour patterns
  • Improving communication and awareness
  • When ‘third-party’ involvement can help
  • Harnessing the positive energy of conflict
