Description:

You will be able to carve your own 'seal' (personal stamp) from stone using a traditional wooden vice and chisel from Taiwan, then print your designs with brilliant red cinnabar ink on traditional paper. So you can continue to enjoy your 'seal' stone carving, you will each receive a small container of the cinnabar ink to take away. Paper has many purposes in Taiwan, some are practical (recycled paper boxes), others are religious (ghost money). All have a simple beauty. You'll learn much more about these. Make your own grass-hoppers, and listen to Taiwan music to get you in the mood. With Joanne B Kaar. Limited to 12 participants so booking essential. All materials are provided as part of the workshop fees. Please bring your own packed lunch. There are facilities for making hot drinks.
