ScotGrad - Highlands and Islands

Gaelic summer placement programme

In the Highlands and Islands, ScotGrad delivers the Gaelic Summer Placement Programme on behalf of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).  The programme is funded by HIE and the European Regional Development Fund. It is similar to the main Student Placement Programme but the student must utilise and maximise the Gaelic language as an asset during their placement.

The aim of the programme is to facilitate tactical, additional, short term placements which can address specific issues and opportunities to create a significant impact in relation to Gaelic language. This will be achieved through students delivering eight to twelve week placement projects focusing on innovation, internationalisation, process improvement, product development and utilising digital opportunities. The programme gives your organisation an opportunity to carry out a specific project which you would not have otherwise done.

The student should work primarily on the agreed project, without being involved in day-to-day operations of your organisation. All placements will run between June and September. Applications are now open.

Funding is available for eligible projects.

Leaflets with more information on summer placements can be downloaded from the left hand side of this page.
