Employing a team of 44 and based in Lochgilphead, Argyll, Midton Acrylics, is Europe’s leading cast acrylic embedment specialist. The company designs and produces industry awards, business gifts, promotional display items and custom acrylic products for clients across a wide range of sectors.
Keen to explore international business opportunities, Jenny Blackwell, senior customer accounts supervisor at Midton Acrylics, participated an intermediate-level Planning for Export Success training programme, run by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).
She said: “We felt we had the product and service range to offer unsurpassed quality against our competitors and were keen to explore exporting opportunities due to the fact we could ship our products around the globe.
I found the course really beneficial as it allowed me to identify our primary export markets and to investigate potential challenges we could come across. HIE has given me the confidence to explore the market further and has equipped me with tools to create an action plan to ensure we take the best route forward with our chosen export market.
The Planning for Export Success course is perfectly suited to companies who already have some previous exporting knowledge. Teaching how to sustain and grow international success and providing supervision on how to develop a business model and value proposition, the course also advises on a strategy for export markets which includes pricing plans and payment methods.
