Innovation Centres

The Scottish Funding Council (SFC), working with Scottish Enterprise (SE) and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), is making up to £10 million available to support the development of new Innovation Centres.

Innovation Centres will become sustainable communities of university academics and researchers, businesses, entrepreneurs and others that will drive innovation in and across Scotland's key economic sectors.

Funding for the Centres will be allocated through a competition process involving SFC, HIE and SE.

The centres aim to help Scotland's economy and long-term future growth by building upon the innovation already happening in Scotland in support of the Scottish Government's economic strategy. As the centres develop, they will also become training grounds for the next generation of entrepreneurs and academics in Scotland.

HIE held an Innovation Centre information event in Inverness in April 2012. View the videos below to find out more.
