Sources of investment

HIE can offer account managed clients financial investment in certain projects and plans related to their business growth plans, but many other sources of external finance and investment are available to companies who are account managed by HIE and to those who are not.

Young Company Finance Scotland have produced a Guide to Finance for Young Companies that gives practical guidance on business funding and the different sources of investment available at each stage of business growth. It also lists tips on what an investor looks for, protecting IP, pitching, negotiation and closing the deal.
