Applications are now open for up to four sponsored places for HIE account managed companies to attend the ‘Powering Growth’ executive education course at INSEAD in Paris. The course takes place from 6 – 10 November 2017 and HIE will take a small group of businesses to attend the course on a pilot basis. Details of how to apply are outlined below.
What is Powering Growth?
INSEAD Powering Growth is a week-long intensive executive education course teaching skills for businesses aspiring to achieve growth through a strong customer focus. The course is held onsite at INSEAD in Paris from 6 – 10 November 2017, excluding travel time. The course is aimed at entrepreneurs and their senior staff who want to put the customer at the heart of their business.
HIE has secured four places on INSEAD’s Powering Growth course on a pilot basis. The course makes participants rethink their whole approach to growth by focusing on the customer, rather than internal issues and competitors. Participants are supported to develop a ‘power offer’ that really does offer customers what they want – even if they do not know it! Through a blend of teaching and interactive group sessions, delegates will gain the knowledge to achieve deep customer engagement and the tools to turn customers into advocates and champions for their products or services.
When does Powering Growth happen?
The Powering Growth course takes place from Monday 6 November until Friday 10 November 2017. Please note that participants will travel to Paris on Sunday 5 November and return to Scotland on Saturday 11 November 2017.
What are the benefits?
Participants on Powering Growth have the opportunity to put the ideas taught on the course into practice through the INSEAD-developed DiG (Discovery Innovation and Growth) simulation. The purpose of the DiG is to create the appropriate competencies, attitudes and behaviour to power customer-based growth in a business. Participants learn how to adopt a completely new way to achieve growth and learn the skills to develop and lead the momentum for change within their organisation.
Participants selected to participate on INSEAD’s Powering Growth course will also be given intensive one to one coaching by telephone to deliver a compelling 60 second pitch about their business. This will help participants maximise the networking opportunities on the course and hone their skills for engaging with customers, suppliers and stakeholders after the course. There will not be a fee for this coaching.
Hone your pitching skills before the course
Attending INSEAD’s Powering Growth course not only equips delegates with the skills and knowledge to accelerate business growth, but is also a unique opportunity to network with other participants from across the globe. Therefore, HIE will provide telephone coaching to businesses offered sponsored places on the course to help them deliver a compelling and engaging 60 second pitch.
How to apply
Only businesses and social enterprises account managed by HIE are eligible to apply for the three sponsored places.
If you are interested in applying for a sponsored place on INSEAD’s Powering Growth course, please complete the application form attached below and submit the completed form to email@example.com by Friday 22 September. Please note that your HIE account manager will be contacted to submit a statement in support of your application.
Companies will be invited to take part in a telephone discussion to discuss their application and why they wish to attend Powering Growth. Companies selected to take part in the pilot will be informed by Wednesday 27 September 2017.
Companies awarded a sponsored place on INSEAD Powering Growth will be required to submit a short reflective report on their experience to HIE after the course as part of the pilot.
How much does it cost to attend Powering Growth?
As this is a pilot, companies offered a HIE sponsored place on the course will only contribute £1,000 towards the course fees, travel and accommodation. The Powering Growth course fee is 9,200 Euros and the total cost, including travel and accommodation, will be in the region of £10 - £11k. Therefore, the company contribution is approximately £10% of the total costs. This support will be operated through De Mimimis and companies will receive a letter of offer with the indicative De Minimis amount. On completion of the course, companies will receive a letter outlining the actual De Minimis amount.
How does the process of booking places on the course work?
HIE will book the places on the Powering Growth course at INSEAD and will organise travel and accommodation for the companies selected for the pilot.
