Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) - process and criteria

Application process

Applications for the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) 2015 will be open between 04 August and 12 September 2014.

Once the apllication stage has closed, a shortlisting process will take place. Those who make it to the shortlisted will be invited to attend an interview in either Inverness (27 and 28 October 2014) or Glasgow (30 and 31 October 2014). The selection panel will consist of five people representing HIE, Scottish Enterprise and businesses who have previously taken part on EDP. Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be advised by 06 November 2014.

Successful applicants are required to attend a Pre-EDP briefing and networking session in Edinburgh on 03 December 2014. This is mandatory for all selected participants.

Selected participants are also required to be available to travel to Boston on Thursday 22 January 2015 and return on Saturday 31 January 2015 at the earliest. If you are unable to commit to these dates, please do not apply for the competition.

  • Applications open: Monday 04 August 2014
  • Deadline for applications: Midday, Friday 12 September 2014
  • Shortlisted applicants will be advised by: Wednesday 08 October 2014
  • Interviews in Inverness on: Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 October 2014
  • Interviews in Glasgow on: Thursday 30 and Friday 31 October 2014
  • Successful applicants will be advised by: Thursday 06 November 2014
  • Pre-EDP meeting in Edinburgh: Wednesday 03 December 2014
  • EDP 2015 visit: Thursday 22 January - Saturday 31 January 2015

Application criteria

  • You must be actively participating in an account managed relationship with Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) or relationship managed by Scottish Enterprise.

    Sponsored places on EDP are available for HIE account managed businesses on an annual basis through a competitive process.

    Scottish Enterprise also offer sponsored places to relationship managed businesses in their area, plus those relationship managed by the Scottish Enterprise High Growth Start-Up Unit (HGSU), Informatics Ventures and Edinburgh BioQuarter through this competitive process.
