Modern Apprenticeships

If you are aged between 16-25 and looking for work with training Modern Apprenticeships allow you to train while you work.

The training is to nationally recognised standards - VQs (Vocational Qualifications).  Modern Apprenticeships are concentrated on VQ Level 3 or higher, with the addition of the following core skills: communication, numeracy, information technology, problem solving and working with others, at levels determined by the industry.  These core skills are integral to every MA course.

Training will be mostly done in your workplace but some qualifictions need block or day release visits to college.  You can work at your own speed to get your qualification.

Your training will not cost you any money and you may also be entitled to financial help if you have to travel to do your training.

If you want to become a Modern Apprentice you can get practical help and advice from your local Careers Scotland office.  This will help you to decide what type of employment and qualification may suit you best.
