HIE Argyll and the Islands is working to counter the effects of physical remoteness through investment in transport infrastructure and improved electronic communications.

A high priority is given to bringing broadband capacity to the area and increasing trade outside the area through improved competitive marketing.

HIE Argyll and the Islands  promotes the area as a globally attractive location based on improved business infrastructure, including property and transport links and aims to attract more people to live and work in the area by promoting sustainable employment opportunities, an improved physical environment and community services and facilities.
