We will strive to strengthen the capacity of communities throughout Argyll and the Islands by empowering them to take forward their own development and achieve a sense of identity.
We seek to enable the people of the area to realise their potential through:
- The promotion of investment in communitiy facilities and assets.
- The development of community strengths and leadership.
- Support for the development of the Gaelic language, culture and the arts.
- Promoting investment in the community infrastructure and improvement of amenities and access, especially in the Kintyre peninsula and the Atlantic Islands.
- Working with the Community Land Unit and Scottish Land Fund to provide opportunities to purchase land and property for community benefit.
- Alongside a range of partners, seek to maximise the benefits of European funding through the Community Economic Development and LEADER+ programmes.
- Work with key partners to develop a town centre regeneration framework.
- Pursue the development of an integrated transport policy for the area.
