Advice and support

HIE Argyll and the Islands regards capacity building as the key to empowering communities.  It enables communities to help themselves, make their own decisions and take ownership of projects.  We can do this by providing a range of training solutions or advice on a variety of subjects including:

• Establishing a community organisation (businesses, trusts, clubs etc) including roles and responsibilities of Directors, constitutions, legal structures, employment law.
• Project planning and management.
• Financial management and reporting

We can also offer advice and support for specific projects.  Our staff has considerable experience in assisting community groups to develop a wide range of local projects.

Advice may be offered on a wide range of topics including project planning, financial viability and funding applications.  Where appropriate we can also draw on specialist input from our training, business, e-business and marketing specialists.
