The information service is an almost free service available to all businesses, individuals and community groups.

We can help provide the information you require to answer your business queries.  For example, if you are looking at starting up in business and are not sure where to start your market research, or, your business is looking for a specific product and can't seem to find the correct supplier.

Information available:

  • business start-up information
  • company reports - Companies House and Dun and Bradstreet (small charge applicable)
  • export and import information
  • employment legislation
  • government, Parliament and legal information
  • statistics - tourism, population and many more
  • suppliers of products and services
  • sources of finance
  • patents and intellectual property rights
  • European Information Service
  • business associations
  • environmental business advice
  • market research

and more......

Other facilities include a new video conferencing suite which was the result of the 3 Islands Partnership Project to allow users to connect to Islay, Jura and Colonsay. In conjuction with Argyll and Bute Council we are making these facilities available to local businesses and other partner organisations. Our aim is to build up a network of video conferencing centres throughout the area to overcome some of the communication problems faced by rural communities and businesses.
