ADMINISTRATION OFFICER 

Based in Inverness or Thurso

Starting salary: £18,302 per annum, excellent benefits package

Salary progression from £18,302 to £20,174 per annum

Fixed term to 31st August 2020

We are looking for an experienced administrator to join HIE, working as part of a project team to support the delivery of the UK's Vertical Space Launch Project.

You will also work with international partners as well as national stakeholders to co-ordinate a wide range of activities to ensure the project continues to move at a significant pace.

Some of the activities include arranging internal and external meetings, writing compelling marketing material, monitoring and reporting on budgets, and providing update reports on project progress.

Previous experience  of working in an administration role as part of a project or programme team is essential, as is the ability to balance a varied workload.

You will also be a strong team player, equally comfortable working on your own initiative.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential for this role.   You will also have a keen eye for detail and a have a proven track record in producing high quality written work.   

A high standard of IT literacy is a key requirement, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook.

SENIOR DEVELOPMENT MANAGER 

Based in Golspie or Thurso

Starting salary: £34,993 per annum, excellent benefits package

Salary progression from £34,993 to £40,588 per annum

Full-time, 35 hours per week 

We are looking for an experienced, proactive Senior Development Manager to join our Caithness and Sutherland area team.

Reporting to the Head of Strengthening Communities, you will be responsible for helping achieve HIE's strategic priorities, particularly in building community capacity and confidence, enabling sustainable growth in the social economy, and empowering communities to acquire, manage and exploit community assets for community benefit.

You will also have an important role in ensuring that HIE plays an effective part in local Community Planning Partnerships in both Caithness and Sutherland, working with other community planning partners and communities to identify and address inequalities through the Locality Plans developed in individual areas.

To be credible in this role you will bring experience in community development and knowledge of local social enterprise and community activity.  You will also have strong project appraisal and management skills, with the ability to lead negotiations with private and public-sector agencies at senior level.

Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines are also key requirements for this role.

Involvement in multi-agency/partner projects and a good knowledge of the Highlands and Islands area and economy, and in particular Caithness and Sutherland is desirable.

Salary progression from £27,559 to £31,422 per annum

Full-time, 35 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Account Manager to join our Shetland area team.

In this key role you will support a portfolio of businesses and social enterprises to help them increase their impact in the local economy.

You will bring excellent relationship building skills and a strong interest in economic development, couple with a successful track record of business development.

A good knowledge of the Shetland business community and the sectoral opportunities present within the area is essential.
