Core functions are administered from offices in Inverness, Dingwall, Benbecula and Auchtertyre. Eight area teams based in 10 area offices work with client businesses and community groups across the Highlands and Islands.
The HIE board has overall responsibility for ensuring that HIE fulfils its statutory duties and the aims and objectives set out by the Scottish Government.
