The Government Economic Strategy (GES) identifies seven sectors as offering particular opportunities for growth due to existing comparative advantages or through the potential to capitalise on Scotland's unique natural assets.
HIE's efforts to develop growth sectors are built around three areas: support for businesses and social enterprises to deliver their aspirations; specialist programmes and interventions to create the conditions for strong sectoral growth; and influencing sectoral and public policy within
Scotland, the UK and Europe.
A critical component of our sectoral development is collaborative working. Key partners for HIE include Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Development International, VisitScotland, Skills Development Scotland, Scottish Funding
Council, Creative Scotland, local authorities and the NHS.
We will work with industry leadership groups to deliver clear, industry-owned growth strategies which are supported by the wider public sector and help to deliver the outcomes set out in GES.
