Supporting Economic Development in the Highlands and Islands through Scotland’s Universities29 July 2013
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has jointly worked with the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), looking into how we could maximise the contribution of the Scottish University sector to support economic development in our region – with a focus on research. HIE and the SFC would be very happy to receive any further thoughts to support the development of an action plan, particularly in relation to:
Mechanisms to significantly increase engagement between businesses/stakeholders and post-graduate researchers.
Key areas of academic research which, through easy access arrangements, you believe would add significant value to the ability of your organisation (or others) to grow, innovate and prosper
Your interest in being involved in a research steering group which would both enable networking of knowledge-based organisations across the region, and the provision of advice to HIE (and other organisations) on matters of research strategy
HIE would be delighted to discuss any aspect of this work so please do not hesitate to get in touch with Morven Cameron, Head of Academic Development at firstname.lastname@example.org
