The cluster of businesses, suppliers and organisations centred around the European Marine Science Park on the outskirts of Oban has become a member of the BioMarine International Clusters Association (BICA).
BICA is a new global approach in the marine bioresources industry which aims to foster SMEs business opportunities and facilitate access to funding.
The development of the Argyll cluster, led by economic development agency Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), includes numerous companies active in the bio-marine field. These include Glycomar Ltd, Xanthella Ltd and SAMS Research Services Ltd.
Through BICA, the international growing interest in products derived from the marine environment is providing these companies with opportunities to showcase their expertise to customers, investors and partners from around the globe.
