HIE is hosting a national roadshow which aims to help local businesses boost their productivity and turnover by sharing knowledge.
The Knowledge Transfer Network Showcase, visits the Drumossie Hotel, Inverness, on Tuesday 12 April.
HIE is supporting the Highland event, along with Scottish Enterprise, the Scottish Funding Council and the Technology Strategy Board.
Knowledge Transfer Networks connect people, businesses, academic institutions and public agencies across the UK. This helps them to share expertise, funding opportunities and collaborate on ideas. The networks are free to join and are funded by the Technology Strategy Board.
There are currently 15 networks across the UK, spanning a range of subjects including Financial Services, Healthcare and Medicines, Creative Industries and Energy Generation and Supply.
Representatives of all 15 networks will be hosting exhibition stands at the event to provide information on services and the benefits of membership.
John Mackenzie, development manager at HIE, said: "Some of the biggest challenges facing any company undertaking research and development, new product innovation or developing new ideas is the lack of access to funding, new knowledge and networking opportunities.
"The KTN showcase event will demonstrate that the 15 networks currently operating in the UK can help companies overcome these challenges.
"To have this national showcase in Inverness gives local businesses and individuals the opportunity to see first hand the benefits being part of a network can bring."
