Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), is hosting a panel session at the Jager Rooms, Stornoway today (Wednesday 4 Sept) at 6pm, along with MG Alba and PRS for Music.
Aimed at those who make the music – composers, artists, producers and editors - the speakers at the session will focus on the importance of the use of music in television and digital media in bringing value to the programme.
Speakers at the event include Andy Harrower, Head of Broadcast Licensing, PRS for Music; Duncan McCrone, Senior Manager for MCPS Scotland; Margaret Cameron, Channel Editor for MG Alba; and Louise Scott, Producer and General Manager for Media Co-op.
Iain Hamilton, Head of Creative Industries will also be there. He said: “HIE recognises the important contribution that this industry brings to the economy and cultural life of the community. A number of people have registered for this event and it promises to provide a useful insight into the importance of music in television.
“Those who attend will meet industry experts to find out more about writing and clearing music for film and television. The seminar will also cover licensing issues for independent producers and will also inform composers, musicians and songwriters on the ins and outs of media composing.
There will be a networking opportunity for members and speakers following the seminar.
