A Skye based business with an international reputation has recently completed a successful rebranding of its product range. Claire Macdonald Foods have embarked upon a strategy for growth and refreshing the brand is a key part of that strategy. The growth strategy has been developed in partnership with Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).
Last month the company unveiled its re-branded range of jams, savoury sauces and relishes at the BBC Good food show in Glasgow.
Claire Macdonald Foods was founded by the award winning cook and writer, Lady Claire Macdonald in 2002. The business is now managed by her daughter Isabella Macdonald.
Isabella Macdonald said: "The Claire Macdonald Foods brand is already well known as having an enviable range of high quality products using the finest natural ingredients from Scotland's favourite cook. Through this process, the products will be easily identifiable and fitting for a modern and changing market. This is only the beginning of the plans we have for the business and we are currently looking at further opportunities to expand."
Options for the development of the brand are significant with opportunities available within home and international markets, in particular USA and the Far East. The company are planning to attend Gulf Foods in Dubai early next year, with over 3,500 exhibitors and 55,000 buyers attending from 152 countries around the world.
Fergus Watson, HIE's Account Manager, said "We have been working with Claire Macdonald Foods over the last 12 months on the refreshing of the brand and developing a clear plan for growing the business. The operation is small and innovative and we are looking to support the development of the brand in international markets. This support is aligned with out strategy for delivering economic growth within the food and drink sector within the Highlands and Islands."
This is a successful business with ambition to grow and the achievements to date are attributed to the hard work and dedication of the team.
Last week, Claire Macdonald Foods opened the first Claire Macdonald Kitchen Shop at House of Beauly, near Inverness.
