Ambitious Moray businesses are coming together to explore how they can grow their business through international trade.
Scottish Development International (SDI), a HIE partner, is hosting the event for businesses from across a number of Moray's key sectors including tourism, business services, food and drink and manufacturing.
'International Business Development' is being held at the Horizon Centre at Forres Business Park on Thursday June 9.
As part of the programme , Charlie Devin of Lossie Seafoods, will share his business experience of working in an international market.
He commented: "As a business grows it may naturally widen its market, but lack of know-how in finding international opportunities or fear of the unknown can deter some companies from taking that step overseas. That's where organisations like HIE and SDI can help, as can sharing experiences with other businesses already exporting.
"Lossie Seafoods Ltd exports in the region of 80% of its production globally including to Switzerland, Italy, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Denmark, Austria and Greece, and further afield to The United States, Mexico, Hong Kong, U.A.E, and Jordan. There are people all over the world who are interested in high quality Scottish goods and services and it's worth exploring how your business can benefit."
SDI, which has a network of offices across the world to promote Scottish companies, can offer advice and support to businesses who want to grow, helping them find and develop opportunities in the global market.
John MacLennan of SDI, who through HIE is working directly with Moray firms, said: "There will be a real mix of businesses coming along, some already exporting, some looking at how they might break into international markets for the first time. The event is free and will offer practical help on how to target the right markets to boost your success."
