Businesses, the public sector and community groups from the Forres area are meeting this evening to continue their work to reduce the economic and social impact of the transition at RAF Kinloss.
Despite the closure of Forres Academy to pupils today, the meeting due to be held in the school at 6.30pm will go ahead.
There will be updates from speakers from Moray Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the chair of the Moray Economic Partnership, but most of the evening will allow sharing of ideas from the floor. A range of local businesses and groups are attending, and the meeting is open to the public.
Calum MacPherson, HIE's area manager for Moray, said: "The Forres community has kept momentum high in ensuring that a fair deal is sought for the area. Tonight we will be discussing achievements we have already delivered by working together, where we are now and ideas on next steps."
