Issued by Scottish Enterprise
Excitement is building ahead of the HSBC Scottish Export Awards which will be held at the Hilton Hotel on Wednesday 23 March 2016 – see who's been shortlisted.
Response to this year's awards has been overwhelming – over 100 exporters entered at least one of the eight categories, representing £850 million in turnover and £482 million of exports from Scotland.
Now in their third year, the annual awards serve as an important platform for Scotland’s internationally operating businesses to promote their brand, generate publicity and attract potential investors.

The overall BQ Scottish Exporter of the Year prize will be announced on the night.
For many, the awards ceremony acts as both a platform and an inspiration. With some of Scotland's top exporters in the room, alongside professional advisers and companies considering exporting for the first time, there's a real mix of experience and enthusiasm.
At last year's awards, Rebecca Pick, founder of Pick Protection, said, "It's a really motivational thing, to see what these businesses are achieving and hopefully, as our business progresses, I can be here one day".
And for the companies who are already operating internationally, James Sprint, managing director of Bute Fabrics, believes the awards play a hugely important role. "They're fantastic for getting recognition from the exterior world and taking it back into the company, so people who are working hard know that Scotland appreciates what they've done" he says.
The HSBC Scottish Export Awards 2016 offer "a stage like no other," suggests BQ managing director, Bryan Hoare.
“For businesses, it’s all about gaining some inspiration and motivation, and for recognising those businesses who’ve been exporting and doing it successfully – and more importantly, for us to pass on the entrepreneurial baton to others to consider exporting as a way to expand their future growth potential.
"This is your time to shine, to stand up and proudly proclaim that you are the very best that Scotland has to offer when it comes to exporting in your field."
