Subject to a positive final investment decision, the Beatrice project, which was consented by Marine Scotland in March 2014, and granted an Investment Contract by the UK government in May 2014, is planned for construction in 2016. As well as generating up to 664MW of renewable electricity if constructed, the project is expected to bring a range of socio-economic benefits to both the Moray and Highland regions including job creation, skills training opportunities and opportunities for local businesses through SSE’s Open4Business initiative.
Through supply chain presentations, followed by a networking session with attendees, the event will provide further information on the types of supply chain opportunities that may arise through the construction of the project.
Representatives from the Beatrice project team, SSE’s Open4Business team, our alliance partners, and Highlands and Islands Enterprise will be on hand to provide an update on the latest project information and answer any questions on the day. Businesses of all kinds are encouraged to attend.
This event is the first in a series of Open4Business events planned for Beatrice. Further events in Wick and Elgin will be advertised in due course and are expected to take place late summer or early autumn.
Event spaces are on a first come, first served basis, and are limited to two representatives per organisation. If you would like to reserve a place at the event please register online.
