#hellodigital is pleased to announce ‘Digital Making Showcase Week’. This special week will feature daily seminars with guest speakers and hands-on demonstrations from MAKLab.
On Wednesday 29th June, the daily seminar is:
Idea to Enterprise: Digital projects building resilient communities
On Wednesday, MAKLab will look at how remote communities have used digital technology to help contribute towards their local economy. If you live in a rural area, then this is the talk for you to find out how you too can strengthen your community through digital.
Communities and community organisations are adopting digital technologies, alongside making and production cultures to build unique and significant value for their local economy. The third sector and community economy is rapidly growing in Scotland, and this session will allow us to explore the ways in which rural, outlying and previously isolated communities can build strength, wealth and resilience.
The afternoon speakers will present a number of national and international case studies for discussion and exploration throughout the breakout sessions. We would envisage a breakout session after the speakers will garner a lot of interest and data collection about what people might want to see in their community.
