Thurso Newton Room Community Session

25 March 2019

Date: Monday, March 25

Time: Between 4pm and 6pm

Location: North Highland College UHI, Ormlie Road

We would like to invite you to the community launch event for the Science Skills Academy's Thurso Newton Room. This is the first in a network of five rooms that will be established in the Highland region, and is also the first Newton Room to be established in the United Kingdom. These bespoke rooms are intended to inspire both school pupils and other members of the Caithness and North Sutherland community to be enthused by Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) topics and to become aware of STEM-related careers, particularly those in the Highland and ISLANDS. This project is also an opportunity for STEM employers to get involved with the local community and open up a whole new generation of young people to the world of STEM.

We would be delighted for school pupils, teachers, families, other members of the community and STEM employers to join us at this informal event, which will include a presentation to introduce the Science Skills Academy and our network of Newton Rooms, and a tour of the Thurso Newton Room with the opportunity to take part in some interactive STEM activities.

No booking required.
