VIBES 2017 awards

VIBES – Scottish Environment Business Awards recognises and rewards companies employing environmental best practice in their daily activity to cut down on resource use, increase sustainability, improve reputation, enhance competitiveness, support wider sustainable developments and benefit their company’s bottom-line.

Entry to the 18th annual VIBES—Scottish Environment Business Awards is now open and Scottish businesses are being invited to join the ranks of Scotland’s environmental elite by participating in the competition.

VIBES is hosting a series of free regional events for businesses to find out more about the Awards. The following will take place in the Highlands and Islands region: 

  • 27th April – 11am to 1pm – Fort William
    Hosted by Lochaber Chamber of Commerce (venue TBC)
  • 27th April – 4 to 6pm – Inverness
    At Highlands and Islands Enterprise, An Lòchran, Inverness Campus, Inverness IV2 5NB

Who can apply?

The VIBES Awards are open to any Scottish based business that contributes to the sustainable development of Scotland in some way.

If you have taken an effective approach to environmental improvement and sustainable development, either across the whole of your business or by focusing on only one of your activities, you could be eligible for a VIBES award.


The 2017 categories which our account managed clients can enter for include:

  • Innovation
  • Management (250+ employees and <250 employees)
  • Environmental Product or Service
  • Hydro Nation
  • Transport
  • Circular Economy
  • Green Teams
  • Best Micro Business

A Micro Business Award will also be presented to the best entry to any category from a company with less than 10 employees.

The awards are free to enter and the deadline for submissions is Friday 26th May at 5pm.

Who's behind the VIBES Awards?

The VIBES Awards are a partnership between Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), The Scottish Government, Energy Saving Trust, Highland & Islands Enterprise, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Water, Zero Waste Scotland and the 20:20 Climate Group.

VIBES is further supported by CBI Scotland, the Institute of Directors (IoD), the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Bright Green Business and Quality Scotland.
