Getting your business involved in Bioeconomy - Inverness

The workshop will consider Bioeconomy within the context of Circular Economy and overall strategic frameworks of planning for sustainability. This workshop will allow for strategic planning and business assessment to avoid future risks and enhance access to emerging opportunities.

The Bioeconomy is the next wave of the economy, including production, processing, consumption and recycling of renewable natural resources, and services based on them, as well as the invention of new value chains. It includes, to greater or lesser extents the following fields: food and drink, bioenergy, water/marine, forestry, agriculture, biochemicals. It uses clean technologies, reduces dependency on fossil fuels, maintains ecosystem services, promotes economic development, and creates new jobs.The bioeconomy is also a key tool in mitigating climate change and restoring the environment, while creating new revenue streams.
