SCOTTISH SHOWCASE AT TENT, LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL:
CALL FOR MAKERS
We are delighted to announce that we are working in partnership with Craft Scotland to present a showcase of innovative design-led Scottish craft at Tent, the four-day industry event that is the highlight of the annual London Design Festival. We are now inviting applications from makers who would like to take part in our showcase.
Located in the creative heart of East London, Tent & Super Brands London is a four-day industry event that brings together 450 exhibitors from 29 countries, including; independent designers, established brands, international country pavilions and galleries.
As the destination of the annual London Design Festival, Tent attracts over 25,000 influential retailer buyers, architects, interior designers, press, designers and design savvy public. Exhibitors showcase furniture, lighting, textiles, materials and conceptual installations from around the world.
The first two days of Tent are designed for trade buyers (the show is not accessible to the public these days) with the final two days being open to the public and trade. The event is held at the Old Truman Brewery, East London and runs Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 September 2016. This year sees the tenth anniversary of Tent.
Together, Craft Scotland and Emergents will show the work of around 25 makers across a range of disciplines. We are looking for makers whose work is suitable for a design-conscious audience. It should be innovative and appeal to interior designers.
This opportunity is ideal for makers looking to build a client-base of interior designers and architects, and who produce design-led, high quality craft.
There will be the opportunity to sell work at the show within our dedicated sales area; however the main purpose of the show is to provide makers with a platform to showcase their work and make links with interior designers, architects and press.
There will be a range of events and talks that we will be running alongside our showcase and we are keen to hear proposals for this. Any proposals should fit within the theme of Design, Craft and Innovation.
The deadline for applications is the 1st April 2016.
