Healthcare Pre-Incubation Accelerator

Under the umbrella of the EU-funded SHINE partnership, NHS Highland is to hold a two-day mentoring course in October to help budding healthcare entrepreneurs convert their business ideas into reality.

The course will take place at the Raigmore Campus’s Centre for Health Science (CfHS), Old Perth Road, Inverness.

The aim is to deliver an early stage accelerator programme which is designed specifically for anyone who has a business idea, i.e. pre start-up or in the very early stages of their business related to the health and care sector, to help explore business models and processes with experienced mentors that allow them to create and achieve a viable and successful business

The SHINE course at the CfHS will be delivered by business mentors who have considerable experience in the start-up/spin-out process.

Some of the course content will include:

  • Keeping yourself afloat – the ins and outs of starting a business
  • Developing your Value Proposition – what is the value of your innovation?
  • Designing, prototyping and testing your produce – ways to achieve efficient outcomes
  • Making sales – what is key to success?
  • Procurement and working within the NHS
  • Working collaboratively while keeping your Intellectual Property (IP)
  • Successful marketing
  • Business models that work
