As in English, there are different ways to talk about the weather, such as by describing what sort of day it is: |
| 'S e latha àlainn a th' ann! | It's a lovely day! |
|
| 'S e latha brèagha a th' ann! | It's a beautiful day! |
|
| 'S e latha fuar a th' ann! | It's a cold day! |
|
| Tha a' ghrian a' dèarrsadh! | The sun is shining! |
|
| Tha an t-uisge ann! | It's raining! |
|
| Tha an sneachd ann! | It's snowing! |
|
You can slot the different adjectives into the phrases depending on what sort of day it is. Let's hope we use àlainn, blàth, brèagha and grianach rather than fliuch and fuar! Look out of your window and tell yourself what the weather is doing.
