Nordic awareness event

Are you interested in finding out more about opportunities in the Nordic Region?

In partnership with Scottish Development International, UK Trade & Investment’s Nordic Team will be visiting Scotland in March to provide one-to-one support and advice at workshops in Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh.  This is your opportunity to find out what the Nordic Region has to offer, or to further develop and expand existing business in the Region.

Event dates:

  • Cowan House, Inverness – Wednesday 17 March
  • Marriott Hotel, Glasgow – Thursday 18 March
  • Marriott Hotel, Edinburgh – Friday 19 March
A short lunchtime seminar beginning at 12 noon will provide an overview of the Region, a Case Study by a Scottish company doing business in the Nordics and an opportunity to broaden contacts and links over a networking lunch.

In addition, four senior representatives of the 40 strong UKTI Nordic Team will deliver pre-arranged 20 minute individual company meetings.  These meetings will take place in the morning, and subject to demand and availability, after the networking lunch as well.

If you would like to attend, please complete the attached registration form on the right of this page and email it to joyce.gibson@scotent.co.uk

If you would like to have a meeting with a representive of UKTI’s Team Nordic, please also complete the attached company profile and return it along with your completed registration form.

Completed forms should be returned by no later than Friday 10 March 2010.

If you would like further information on this event, contact Joyce on 0141 228 2927.

About the Nordic region:

  • The region has twenty five million people in a land mass greater than France and Germany.
  • The Nordic Region (Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden) is dynamic. It has high social standards and regularly appears in the world top ten for competitiveness, internet connectivity and educational excellence.
  • Language is not normally a barrier and the market is nearby, with excellent air links from Scotland.
  • The Nordic region offers great opportunities to Scottish companies and there are many examples of British-Nordic partnerships continuing to grow and prosper, even in these challenging times.
  •  Long-standing cultural and trade links between the countries provide a firm basis for an ever increasing and mutually rewarding economic relationship.
