| Description: | Featuring Deep River Quartet, 'Jazzin' Babies, The Daniel Smith Blues Band, The Alan Glen Quartet, Kit Carey's Jazzband, Laurie Holloway Trio, Phil Mason's New Orleans All Stars with Christine Tyrrell, Ken Mathieson Classic Jazz Orchestra, Bobby Wishart and his Group, Mike Whellans, Guinness All Stars, The Juggets Marching Band (Holland), Alex Yellowlees and his Band and George Penman's Jazzmen. Plus Bute's own Phil Mason's Jazz Friends with Jenny Brown, 'Academy Swing', Tim Saul Quartet, Marching Bands, Brolly Parade and Jam Sessions with Graham Scott (keyboards) and David Gray (drums). | Description: | The Pavilion was built in 1938 and is a fine example of 30s architecture. It is now owned and operated by Argyll & Bute Council, and is available for hire (email eileen.rae@argyll-bute.gov.uk). It has been in continuous use and offers spacious and flexible accomodation for a wide range of events and performances. It seats 1250 in total with performance space of 22.8m W x 6.1m D x 20m H to grid, flat stage floor suitable for dance. Its main programme is folk, country, jazz, brass, symhony concerts. |
